A conservative Christian wanted to argue with the Sage, saying, "You deny the Bible is the Word! You're a heretic!" The Sage replied, "Heretic or not, the Word is not a word."

Zen saying -
Say one word with your mouth shut!
you cannot hear what petals opening are saying unless you listen from a place other than from where you hear words ... where?

Through practicing Quiet, we grow to trust communicating without words, both speaking and listening. The principle means is presence.
We can say much without saying anything. The key is to grow in our connection with presence and learn to trust it. We will feel less of a need to talk and more contentment with being-listening.
Being-listening is not separate from us. Being-listening is not just something we do. Effortless presence is being-listening: you are being-listening. Being-listening is saying something, and your mouth does not open. Being-listening is knowing the other is saying something before, during, and after the words.
